Obtaining documents

Police clearance certificate of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation

It usually takes up to 4 months to obtain the Certificate. The Certificate is issued in English by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Sydney and does not require apostille.

The cost of this service is 45 AUD (foreign citizens) and 15 AUD (Russian Federation citizens) for each document on demand. Please note that we accept bank cheques, credit/savings cards and money orders payable to the Consulate General of Russia.

How to apply for the Police clearance certificate (Certificate of no criminal record) 

Applicants, who live in Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, South Australiaand and Tasmania, may apply to the Consulate General by mail.

  1. If you apply in person the following documents are required: 
    • Application for obtaining Police clearance certificate;
    • Your passport;
    • Copies of your Russian visa and of the document with address in Russian;
    • Self-addressed return Registered or Express envelope (if you’d like to receive it by post). 
  2. If you apply by mail the following documents are required: 
    • A personal application in Russian and in English in a plain-text form regarding obtaining a document (we recommend that you advise us your contact details -phone number or e-mail address – for contacting you if we need any more information to process your request). Application for obtaining Police clearance certificate can be downloaded below. Your signature on the application in English must be witnessed either by a Notary Public or by a Justice of the Peace or by Police; 
    • Certified copy of your passport page with your photo and personal details (must be certified either by a Notary Public or by a Justice of the Peace or by Police);
    • Copies of your passport page with your Russian visa and of the document with address in Russia(in Russian);
    • Money Order or Bank Cheque payable to the Consulate General of Russia;
    • Self-addressed return Registered or Express envelope (if you’d like to receive it by post). 

Documents that do not satisfy the above requirements will be sent back to the applicants. 

Admission is by appointment.
If necessary Consulate General may ask applicants  for additional document.

Obtaining documents from Russia

If you reside within the consular district of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Sydney, which includes New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania, you may obtain documents from the Russian Federation on demand through our office.
 
It may take approximately 6 months to obtain your document from Russia.
 
To proceed with obtaining documents from Russia you should submit to the Consulate in person the following documents:
  • Two filled-out (in Russian) questionnaire on obtaining documents available for downloading from the page;
  • Your passport. 
The fee is 105 AUD (foreign citizens) and 60 AUD (Russian Federation citizens) for each document on demand. Please note that we accept bank cheques, credit/savings cards and money orders payable to the Consulate General of Russia. The consulate will not refund any fees acquired even if the documents or requested information are not found.
We do not process requests for such documents as military identifications, labor books, driver’s licenses, inquiries of family status, evaluations, and personal cases from Russian institutions. We do not process requests for documents if they are not in the inquirer’s name or not valid at the present time (for example, you cannot request a birth certificate of a person who is deceased or a marriage certificate of someone who is divorced).
 
To request duplicates of documents from educational institutions we recommend that you address your inquiries directly to those institutions.
 
Admission is by appointment.
The Consulate General may ask you for additional documents.
