INFORMATION you should know before visa application
Pursuant to the directive from the Russian Foreign Ministry, effective June 15, 2012, the Russian Consulate General in Sydney requires that all applications for Russian visas submitted in Australia be prepared using the Electronic Visa Application Form which is a web-based application, available online at http://visa.kdmid.ru
After filling the Electronic Visa Application form online, applicants will have to print a copy of their application form, sign and date it, glue the required size photo to it and submit this printed original form, along with other necessary documentation, to the Russian Consulate General in Sydney personally, by their legal representative or by post not earlier than 3 months before the first entry into Russia.
Based on reciprocal approach Australian applicants traveling to Russia with a government purpose must provide a short biography (full name; date and place of birth, education and qualifications, history of employment) in the Russian language.
Applicants are advised to verify dates and check whether names are spelt correctly on issued visas immediately after collecting/receiving their passports. The Consulate will not be responsible for the mistakes, which were not brought to its attention before your departure from Australia.
